Background of Establishment

The idea of establishing a society to increase awareness and further develop the science of non-verbal communication analysis for detecting deception was conceived after realizing that there was still a lot of ignorance on the subject matter. The hope is that through this approach, investigators could learn to easily detect deception from the non-verbal cues leaked by an individual during questioning. Yet the application is not intended solely for investigators because we all could be more empowered by knowing when the person we are having a conversation with is actually trying to deceive us.

​By drawing on scientific findings and further research, this Society aims to support and encourage professionals in non-verbal communication and to increase recognition of this science of human nature.

Mr.Jackson Yogarajah, the founding president, began his Non-Verbal Communication training career in 1995 and today remains the leading trainer in this region in the field of Non-Verbal Communication for use in interviews, investigations, crime prevention, and others.

He has contributed by conducting training for the Royal Malaysian Police Special Branch, Institute of Diplomacy & Foreign Relations, The Royal Brunei Police Force, The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Brunei Darussalam, The Customs & Excise Department of Brunei & The Customs Excise Department of the Republic of Indonesia, and other government agencies. He has also published 3 books on the subject of non-verbal communication and has been featured in almost all local newspapers, including Malay and Chinese newspapers. His articles and letters appear in many blogs, and he has written more than 40 non-verbal communication articles in the New Straits Times and other newspapers.
